Fire! Fire! Fire!

So basically, the scariest thing imaginable happened to me today.

I caught my hair on fire.

I was in a coworkers office and I leaned over to plug in my laptop...I failed to notice that she had a candle burning. Stupid me, I totally stuck my hair right into the fire. It mostly just started to smolder* and was dripping with hot wax, but still. Freaked me right on out.

And keep in mind, this was mere moments before I was supposed to do a presentation to the faculty on a book that I have not ever read. Good times.

*I now find much more humor in the 'random question' that was asked of me for my profile.

Holy crap! That is totally scary!

So did you still do the presentation?

I love that you can find great pictures to illustrate what you are typing about...clever! Oh, and funny that you did that right before your presentation you just couldn't say no to!

The presentation was fine. Short, but fine.

There was a little collateral damage but I have enough hair for three people...so it is hardly noticable. However, the wax was harder to get out than you would have thought.

I finally posted an update last night, just for you, heh heh. No baby yet, but he'll be here soon!

I've been lurking your blog the last couple of weeks after I saw a comment you left on Sara's blog. You are absolutely delightful! But holy hell Batman...flaming tresses are *not* my idea of fun times.

LOL! Your answer to your random question cracked me up from the beginning... It had to happen sometime huh?!? was it atleast a good smelling wax, to hide the burnt hair smell? Better a candle than a bunsun burner...
So what was this book you did not read?

The book is called Literacy With Attitude. It is a teaching methods book that talks about how the education that students get is drastically different based on the demographics of the area.

It is really good. Especially in that it doesn't place the blame in any one place.

I spent the evening zipping through the book and realizing a LOT about what I should be doing better. Kind of a slice of humble pie.

Lisa- Yeah, I am a little slow, but most of the pics are of your kids and husband.....what can I say?

Kelsi- I have no idea how you might know him. I have never personally met him, just online.
