Let me give you the nooner wrap-up. It's not as dirty, or fun as it sounds.
I got to my classroom, after a particularly nasty 6:45 am dept meeting, to find that there were no more Diet Coke's in my mini-fridge. At the beginning of the day, I didn't think it would be a big deal. It's a short day. Certainly I can make it to lunch, grab a diet Coke from the machine, no big deal. (Even though I am morally and ethically opposed to drinking from plastic, but that's a whole other Oprah.) I reminisced about the days of yore....when I planned and prepared for the long cold winters. I longed for the days when I didn't work in BFE, but that got me nowhere.
At lunch, I went to the lounge for the nectar of sweet relief, and the maniacal machine blinked that empty red light back at me.
I judge this man no more.

That is exactly how I feel about Diet Pepsi, a day without it and I'm one headache ridden monster.
A day without ONE?
Haha. I usually have 2 or 3, 4 if it's a REALLY bad day.
I have so many friends who are Diet Coke Addicts....maybe there really is Cocaine in there!
Would you like to know that I maybe have ONE sip of soda a week....I am more of a water addict!
I know all too well how you feel. And my uncles have called it nectar my whole life, I tell Bremen it's genetic and not to ever expect me to quit. I see my mom and Jake stop cold turkey just to go on a Diet Coke binge a couple months later. What's the point of that, I pride myself in being a stable addict. I got excited yesterday because I discovered a machine just a couple blocks away from home, so if a horrible situation arose where I didn't have my car keys and I was out of that blessed drink, I could just walk down the street...it's like a Diet Coke insurance policy, I love it.
Jill how I feel your pain. This is my biggest fear-no Diet Coke. I would have to refuse to work-medical emergency!
